The Monticello Church Of Christ believes if we carefully follow the Bible we can carry on the church Jesus built in the 1st century even into the 21st century and beyond to the end of time. The church Jesus built is every bit as fitting today as it was back then.
When Jesus said in Matthew 16:18 (KJV), "And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it" he was saying two important things. One thing he was saying was he would build his church and the second thing he was saying is nothing can prevail against it or change it. If we compare a church of today with the church of the Bible and it is different, it will not be the church Christ established because it has been changed, or prevailed against.
By diligently studying the scriptures we can worship and serve God according to His will.
"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works." (2 Timothy 3:16-17 KJV)
Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. (2 Timothy 2:15)
We invite you to come back to the Bible and join us in simple first century worship according to the pattern set down by God Himself for all of the centuries to follow.
If we can assist you in this matter please call on us if we can be of service or if you have any questions or comments or you would like to discuss this further.
