I watched a YouTube video by a Lloyd Evans titled "40 Scientific Inaccuracies from the Bible."
Let me rephrase that, I started to watch the video but I lost interest in watching it after about 15 minutes or so when Mr. Evans starting debunking Job 26:7
He stretches out the north over empty space; He hangs the earth on nothing. (Job 26:7)
Mr. Evans states that if the Bible was actually from God it would be completely scientifically accurate. He claims science has proved earth does not hang on nothing, it is held in place by gravity. Gravity is the pull of masses toward each other.
Mr. Evans seems to think the Bible is a science text instead of a life text. While the Bible is not a science book every scientific statement in the scriptures has either been proven to be true or HAS NOT been proven to be false.
While it is true the earth is held in place by gravity a distant observer, or one walking the face of the earth and observing planets, would not see that and would assume the earth "hangs on nothing." I can't imagine God seeing the need to scientifically address the nuances of gravity to people whose sole goal is to make it through the day. It's there, it appears to just hang there, God put it there and told it to stay there. The purpose of the Bible is not to teach science, it is to teach life.
I will admit the "over empty space" part of Job 26:7 had me wondering for many years. I was born and raised in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan where there was little light pollution and many cloudless nights nights one could see an uncountable number of stars in ANY direction including North.
I watched a YouTube video discussing the size of the universe titled "How far is the edge of the universe?" Boiled to a nutshell, no matter where we are on earth we can only see so far out into space. Anything beyond that distance is unknown, or nothing is known. We tend to use the North Star as a direction indicator so there is obviously something that far out but beyond that direction, beyond the edge of the universe, is what? Nothing we know about.
One of the earliest scientific statements the Bible makes is found in Genesis 1:9...
9 Then God said, “Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear”; and it was so. (Genesis 1:9)
That verse says at one time there were two masses on earth - dry land & water. Yet if we look at earth from space we can see that is not true. We sail the seven seas, there are seven major continents, and so on.
Science has a theory they call "Plate Tectonics." Scientists say at one time all land was one giant super continent often called Pangea. They call it a theory because they didn't actually see it separate even though they know it did. Unless scientists can actually observe something occurring in one way or another or prove something happened they call it a "theory."
"Science" is under the impression it can age a rock and other things. If God can create full grown humans who are only an instant old, obvious because infants need someone to care for them, can he not create a instant old ancient rock? No one has any real idea how the Creative process occurred other than it was done by an unimaginably powerful, all knowing God.
Mr. Evans refers to the Bible as a book. The Bible is not a book. It is a collection of 66 books written over a 1500 or so year period by some 40 different authors from a number of educational, cultural, and status levels all on a single harmonious subject, God's interactions with His Creation. It contains scientific facts that science has only fairly recently discovered but the Bible knew for thousands of years..

For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, (Romans 1:20)
Every number, color, symbol, tree, animals, or metal mentioned in any of the 66 books of the Bible have a consistent application in the other 65 books.
The Bible is the publication that answers the question, "Where did I come from and where am I going?"
16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. (II Timothy 3:16-17)
