Do Not Pray For Them

Hardly a day goes by that I don't hear a prayer plea to God to bless this country and intercede in its downfall.

For over 200 years this country has paid lip service to God. His name was put on our money. We posted the 10 Commandments everywhere. We prayed in school and public events. We prayed in Congress. God's name was seen and heard everywhere.

We may not have followed His Word all that well, but hey, we were a Christian Nation and that thought flowed from our lips if not from our hearts.

And this country became the freest, richest, most powerful nation in recorded history. Even the poorest among us lived better than a huge percentage of people around the world. One can only begin to imagine what it would have been like if we had given heart service to God rather than just lip service.

Now we chant, "NO GOD!! NO GOD!!" at our political conventions. We prohibit any Christian activities at schools and public events while accepting and even encouraging other religious belief activities. We openly accommodate other belief systems regardless and insist Christians honor and partake of them regardless of conscience. Bibles and religious items are prohibited at schools, Islamic prayer rugs and their use are not. We have Islamic studies in our schools. Whole sections of cities are no-go zones where Sharia law is practiced and US Constitutional Law is non-existent.

We praise and admire celebrities and sports figures while ignoring those who have made great sacrifices and discoveries that hugely benefit mankind.

And we freely murder millions of God's babies before they are even born, and if what we hear is to be believed, even if they are born alive from botched abortions.

The list goes on and on as good becomes evil and evil becomes good.

And then we raise our voices to God and ask Him to bless this country.

If that isn't the height of hypocrisy you tell me what it is.

God has sent nations into captivity who have chosen to turn away from Him. When one turns from God one turns from His blessings and the only thing left is captivity.

God has sent people into captivity by bringing the captors to them. God has sent nations into captivity by just doing nothing and letting the people go.

In Jeremiah's day God was sending His people into captivity because they had turned away from Him and chosen to be outside of His blessings The prophet Jeremiah warned the people for over 20 years about the pending captivity with no success as they went their own way thinking God was with them. Jeremiah was greatly distressed about the future captivity of the people and God told him three times to not pray for the people because He would not hear the prayers.

“Therefore do not pray for this people, nor lift up a cry or prayer for them, nor make intercession to Me; for I will not hear you. (Jeremiah 7:16 NKJV)

“So do not pray for this people, or lift up a cry or prayer for them; for I will not hear them in the time that they cry out to Me because of their trouble. (Jeremiah 11:14 NKJV)

Then the Lord said to me, “Do not pray for this people, for their good. (Jeremiah 14:11 NKJV)

God is sending this country into captivity and it is ignoring all the signs.

But your iniquities have separated you from your God; And your sins have hidden His face from you, So that He will not hear. (Isaiah 59:2 NKJV)

God says the only thing that will cause Him to relent is if the people turn back to Him.

This country is welcoming a tide of people who detest everything America stands for and openly proclaim they will conquer us.

if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. (2 Chronicles 7:14 NKJV)

I don't see that happening. In fact, I see the opposite happening.

“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. (Matthew 7:13 NKJV)
